Muzej Barona Myunhgauzena

The Baron Munchausen Museum helps to revive in memory the tales of the incredible adventures of Baron Hieronymus Karl Friedrich von Munchausen. Baron Munchausen spent his most beautiful years with his wife Jacobin in Latvia, in Vidzeme, in the Dunte manor, where for many centuries people have not ceased to retell each other the stories of Munchausen. Dunte is a special place in Latvia, where the sea meets the forest, in winter horses are tied to tower spiers and with one shot they fall into ten ducks, which immediately, through the pipe, fall directly into the pan.

The Baron Munchausen Museum is one of the most visited museums in Latvia, which attracts both local and foreign tourists with its unusual exhibits.

Many argue that Munchausen is the most truthful person in the world. You can confirm or refute this statement yourself, having come to visit us and plunged into the atmosphere of the stories of the witty baron.

The exposition of the Baron Munchausen Museum is regularly updated with new, unusual exhibits. This season, you can see the new exhibition – the Munchausen Hall of Fame.

On the second floor of the museum you will take away wax figures of celebrities of the past and present. . Everyone has the opportunity to take pictures with maestro Raimonds Pauls or basketball star Ulyana Semenova, as well as a quick word in a small talk with former president Karlis Ulmanis.

In addition to the museum’s premises, saturated with a sense of wonder and mystery, the tallest oaks of Europe – Munchausen oaks, which the baron himself planted for future generations, grow around the estate. They say that these oaks give their energy to everyone who touches them ..

Come to us. and you will feel all the charm of a leisurely rest in the atmosphere of stories about the adventures of Munchausen!
